From 10–17 November 2026, The Gambia becomes a meeting point for fashion, culture, creativity and international exchange as we present the 4th edition of Gambia International Fashion Week (GIFW).
Founded in 2023, GIFW was created as a non-profit platform to give Gambian and African designers, models, creatives and young talents greater visibility, professional opportunities and access to an international fashion network. From its first edition, GIFW has grown into more than a fashion event it is a platform connecting Gambian creativity with Africa and the world.
This year, fashion becomes a powerful expression of heritage, sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation.
GIFW 2026 places particular focus on Sustainability, Recycling and Made in Gambia, encouraging designers and creatives to transform materials, celebrate local craftsmanship and demonstrate the cultural and economic potential of Gambian fashion.
Throughout the week, GIFW will bring together local and international designers, models, creatives, fashion professionals, media, influencers, buyers, cultural figures and fashion enthusiasts from Africa, Europe and beyond.
The programme will include fashion activities, designer showcases, cultural experiences, networking opportunities, industry conversations, sustainable fashion initiatives and the celebration of emerging and established creative talent.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover Gambian fashion and culture while connecting with an international creative community.
The centrepiece of GIFW 2026 will take place on 15 November 2026 at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre (OIC), Bijilo, The Gambia.
The Main Event will bring together Gambian and international designers for a major fashion experience celebrating contemporary African fashion, cultural identity, sustainability and international collaboration.
It is where African creativity meets the world stage.
GIFW exists to create real pathways for talent.
We connect emerging creatives with designers, industry professionals, international guests, media and potential partners. Through the runway, education, networking and international exposure, GIFW aims to help transform creative talent into sustainable professional opportunities.
Our vision is to position The Gambia as a destination for fashion, creativity, culture and sustainable production, while giving Gambian talent a platform from which to reach the international stage.
